I too am a middle girl child and so many of your photos and experiences mimic my growing up years. Three girls in a bathtub, check; being the outsider because you'd rather read or write than go party, check; moving thousands of miles away (From Midwestern Indiana to Phoenix, Arizona) to adjust to empty nest syndrome....check, check, check, check and check.

Not to worry, Marianne.  I actually wrote a whole article about this incident.  It's located under "Oddly Enough" in the Junk Drawer section of the Articles tab.  As an eye witness to the event, you can judge how accurately I chronicled the whole thing!  Thanks for keeping me honest.

Lee Ann, I was hoping you would include the story about the Mark Twain signed book you found in the antique mall. I was with you that day and tried to tell you it was printed. (You certainly left that important detail out.) Also, I recall that you actually spent money to have a guy look at it. You called to tell me the sad outcome and that your sister (I think) had a set of these books with the same imprint. I guess it was wishful thinking and perhaps poor eyesight on your part.

This is fabulous! As someone who grew up in the Panhandle of Texas and, as you did, have finally moved 2500 miles away this hits so close to home. I love it and THANK YOU for sharing!
Some of those photos look as if you snitched them from one of those boxes in my closet!!

Oh, the memories. We were 4 girls and I tried the Agent 99 look too. Didn't work for me either. We went on to raise 3 boys and now have 4 grandchildren - want to hear about them??? I'll give you a few minutes for Aiden and Avery in return.
